Onions is a romantic mystery suspense about a woman whose determination to start a new life brings unexpected chaos and love. Claire James moves to Vermont with her daughter and opens a bed and breakfast.  After crashing her car into a tree, she is treated by Nick, the town doctor who becomes her lover and protector.  Together, they plant a garden to help pay for repairs and are shocked when only white onions grow.  Soon, a string of awful events occurs, including attempts on Claire’s life.  The mystery thickens when folks fall into unexplained comas and Nick and Claire are forced to piece together a mystery that rocks the town.

Prologue

        Thunder rolled beneath the cloud-ridden ceiling, as the fury of the storm grew closer and closer. Even from afar, anyone within sight or sound could feel its power—its eventual domination of anything in its path.
        Using the back of the blood-stained shovel, the silver-haired figure matted the dirt that crumbled to the sides. The deed was done—the secret sealed, the truth buried where it belonged. In the earth, closer to hell. Closer to him.
        With plump fingers, the silver-haired one lifted the splintery trophy in the air and bellowed into the night. The vow would be heard, and eventually, it would be felt. And then . . .
         It would be feared.
        Just like the storm. Each blast was more impressive than the last, bringing with it an electrical charge that hung around long after the initial flash.
         It was time.
        Holding the shovel high in the air, the silver-haired figure began to chant words that no one else would utter. Words of promise, words of torment, words of moments forever lost.
        Blood will run, children will cower. And the hearts of the damned will pay . . .

JUST READ THE BOOK ONIONS

Just received this book as a gift, I read this over the weekend and I just could not stop turning the pages my heart started to race and I had to keep reading because the suspense was so exciting. This writer has an amazing talent and a wild imagination that transpires in her book. Keep writing JACIE RIDER you make me want to read.

This book is amazing! It had a major effect on me. I would like to thank you Jacie for getting me to read again & enjoy it. I can't tell you the last time I picked up a book to read & actually finished it. It got my imagination going & I was able to visualize everything. This book would make a great movie. Awesome Book!!!!
I read Onions before it was out to the public. It is a great read. I read it very quickly. I could not wait to find out how it ended. I enjoyed the love story between the main characters - very nice to read. Highly recommend this book to anyone.

Original and suspenseful !
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This author had me hooked in the first few pages and did not disappoint. I am looking forward to reading further books by Jacie Rider !!

Couldn't put it down!
This book is extremely well written! With each chapter there was a new twist or turn that simply contradicted the way I anticipated what would happen next. The characters seemed to come to life. The intensity continued to build up as I flipped through each page. I would highly recommend this book to family and friends and look forward to reading many more books written by Jacie Rider. I will never look at onions in the same way!

A toatlly compelling read. One of the best page turners I have read in years. The suspense leaves you in a comfortless, strange hold. Jacie Rider is quickly becoming my author of choice

Wow! That was a twist!
I am a working mom with two small children and this book kept me up way past midnite! I just couldn't put it down, I craved the suspense and wanted to solve the mystery with each turning page. I just couldn;t figure it out until the end. They should make a movie out of this! Truly an amazing read and I hope to see many others on the shelves by Jacie Rider. After finishing this book, I felt an emptiness, like there was something missing in my life. I look so very forward to reading other books by this amazing author.

I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to read this book before it's publication. I am an avid reader and I just couldn't put it down. The story was engaging and the characters well developed. I would recommend this to everyone and look so forward to future stories by Jacie Rider.

Truly engaging plot and characters!
This was a book you hated to put down. The characters were well developed and interesting. Claire James is a strong character that many women can identify with. The plot was convincingly twisted and had me hooked from the beginning. Is there a sequel?

A good read for sure!
I was impressed with the plot development and the way the characters were so real. The author keeps the story moving at all times. I usually don't read books very fast, but I couldn't put this one down. Definitely a good read!

I have read Onions

I read Onions in its infancy and it took me 3 nights. I needed to know what happened as things progressed. It captivated my imagination each night, wanting to know what was going to happen. Sometimes I was correct but then events took a real twist and there I was again trying to piece things together. Then it happened. THE END. I finally knew and everything made sense. That should be the real essence of good writing, and it was in this book. Thouroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one.

I loved Onions!

I read Onions in one night. It hooked me from the beginning, and I couldn't put it down. I didn't know what to expect from this writer, and I was blown away by the story and the characters and the suspense factor that kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm not a big reader, but this book didn't make feel like I was reading it, but living it. Every time I thought I figured it out, the story would make a left turn and I was stuck where I was-turning pages until my alarm clock went off. I can't wait for the next one!
